Arsenal vs. Leicester City kicks off at 15:00 [GMT+1] on Saturday, September 28 at the Emirates.

Arsenal swept Bolton aside in a 5-1 win in an EFL Cup third-round clash on Wednesday night. Back in the Premier League, ten-man Arsenal had come close to putting City’s season-long unbeaten run to an end, but a John Stones leveller in the 98th minute ensured the champions remained unbeaten in 28 games following last weekend’s 2-2 draw. Mikel Arteta’s side had played the entire second half with a numerical deficit after Leandro Trossard qualified for an early bath following his sending-off at the stroke of halftime [R. 45’+8]. The highly impactful red card limited the Gunners to 22% possession, their second lowest on record from 2003-04 in the Premier League. ‘The context of what was thrown against 10 men for 55/56 minutes. That tells you the story; that tells you the character of our players, and I'm extremely proud of them.’ Arteta said after the draw. On Saturday, the Gunners will reconvene in front of their home crowd for the game against the Foxes, whom they have a five-game winning run in place against. It remains Arsenal’s joint-longest winning run against the visitors in league history. Coupled with a record of 16 wins in 17 Premier League games against newly promoted sides such as Leicester City, Arsenal will be confident of picking up three points. A 4—4—2 with Kai Havertz and Gabriel Martinelli in attack is anticipated against Leicester City. Leandro Trossard returns having served his suspension in Arsenal's midweek 5-1 win over Bolton. Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori, whose fabulous goal earned Arsenal the leveller against City, are in doubt.

While a win via penalties [3-0] earned them a ticket to the next round of the EFL Cup at Walsall’s expense, settling back to life in the Premier League has been difficult for Leicester City. The Foxes were on the verge of imminent defeat against Everton, who before their meeting had lost from a leading possession in successive games. However, a goal from Stephy Mavididi [73’] restored parity for Leicester City after the Toffees took the lead via Iliman Ndiaye [12’]. In 15th place with just 3 points [0W, 3D, 2L], the Foxes will have their eyes on a maiden victory when they face Arsenal this weekend. However, Leicester City have won just one of their last 26 away league games against Arsenal [1W, 4D, 21L], picking up a 1-0 victory in October 2020. Nevertheless, the visitors will be looking to end Arsenal’s 39-game unbeaten run against promoted sides on home soil. A 4—2—3—1 with Jamie Vardy in attack is expected.
